Ever thought about doing a 24 hour comic event?
I had a great 24 hour session in Plymouth City Museum as part of Plymouth International Book Festival. We did 2 x 12 hour sessions (security restrictions on an all night vigil. Quite relieved really!. These Object Sotories (Telling Tales) had to use objects from the Museum to tell their sotires. I chose the Martin Brothers Ceramic Tobbacco Jars having previously done some research and found that Charles Martin used to hide his favourite peices under the floor boards in their Southall Shop! With a little more research I was able to bring in some interesting facts and acurate mapping! to develop this as part of an education pack for my cursive learning projects for cross curriculum learning platforms. I have not finished the story yet but will post up more later. In the mean time this is a long view of what is happening.
As a way of being really involved in your work and totally focused – no distractions like “i must change the washing over/feed the cat” if you ever have the opportunity then take part in a 24 hour comic event.
