I have just purchased a badge maker and now…I am in heaven!
I’d used an Enterprise Badge Maker with PUPs (Plymouth University printmaking Society) with letterpress stamps and type when we were raising money for The MS Society. It seemed such a novel thing to do…to put original prints in a a badge, So I also used it when I was doing a workshop with Drawing Together and Peninsular Arts for the William Kentridge Exhibition . Claire Gladstone and I ran a number of workshops looking at the p(fabulous) prints on exhibit and then creating our own political statements with print. Making badges from both the rejects and specifically designed ideas.
I specifically bought their product because it worked easily and produced a consistent quality product.
I do wish though that I could remember to take the badges off my clothes before putting them in the washing machine!!!!
I have progressed from making single badges to mounting them on canvasses. They make a brilliant installation.
In fact I am so pleased with my badge maker that I have set up a separate business to sell the bages as individual designs for specific events.
So all in all I am really very happy with my Enterprise Badge Maker and am thinking I will but another die possibly the next size up to make fridge magnets and mirrors with.
