There is an image of this concertina artists book on the Editorial Page of my website. I drew this in Venice and liked the idea of adding the balloon in a celebration of the Venetians, I suppose. This is drawn with a 1930’s dip pen and calligraphic ink on Fabriano paper. It was a sunny, if a little chilly day, in the spring of 2014.
I used a Windsor & Newton wash pen with this image. Its one of the most useful tools in my pencil case. I like to have it with me at all times!….except when the lid comes off in my bag. (hmm! that can be a bit annoying – to be Honest)
I was sad when this little book sold (£75.00) as I was rather fond of it. But hopefully it is sitting on someones mantle piece being admired.
