I have two illustrations in the Arts magazine Feast this issue. Very graphic in approach these images needed to stick to the prescribed colour pallet and reflect the wonderfully quirky poetry written by Rosemary Corlett and A J Huffamn for Tribe Magazines Thief Magazine Issue 3 : Feast
The colour pallet was limited to three or four colours prescribed by them. Its not a normal way of working for me but an interesting approach and I became interested in how to approach using the various colours. The image is an adaptation of an ‘object d”art’ seen in a Parisian window one holiday with my friend Joyce. I always take lots of photographs and If I think about a certain trip will, more often than not, see it in the order of the photographs I took. I suppose its a useful record for an illustrator and the photographs certainly are a great source of inspiration when a commission like this comes up.
